What are Vampires?

Quick rant.

Wearing black clothing and being depressed all the time or being 'goth' (goth is a general term, and shouldn't always applied to clothing or black lipstick and nail polish) doesn't make you a vampire, and those kiddies out there that think wearing black all the time is nonconformity, think again, you are still conforming.
Here's a good link on the term GOTH while I'm at it. Vampirism and Goths or "Gothic" are not the same, though can go hand in hand.

End rant.

So what are vamps? We are people, that have a need for energy. Note, the word 'need' is used, not 'desire'. We need the energy of other living beings, to help balance out our lack of energy. There are many out there that upon hearing the term 'vampire' think blood suckers. OK, so some of us do drink blood. Not all of us do. There are different types of vampires out there. The only reason why the Sanguinarians (blood drinking) are more recognized, is thanks to the stories and movies out there, including myths from different countries and misconceptions thanks to those that can't separate Hollywood and vampire novels from reality.

Truthfully, the sanguine do not rip the throats out of unwilling victims. Those would be the lunatics out there that have read one too many novels and should be locked up. The Lexicon and Myths Pages gives a brief description of some of the types of vampires in the world. Again, we vampires have reflections, eat garlic, and might even be (gasp) serving in your churches. Let the stupefied paranoia begin..
